Shopping For Plus Size Clothing For Your Next Vacation

October 4th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

Whether you’re headed out to a beach resort, a big city, or the great outdoors, you want to make sure your suitcase has everything you will need. But you don’t have to stuff it full of clothes until it bursts; combining what you already have in your closet with some versatile separates will make packing for your next vacation easy.

You want to be able to mix and match your outfits while traveling; it will make packing much easier and will keep your suitcase light. One way to do this is by choosing a color theme.

Get out some of your most comfortable pants, perhaps in black, khaki, or white, and see what tops will go well with all of them. For instance, a red or pink tank top goes great with all three. Then choose jackets and cover-ups you can layer over your tank tops. A black jacket will create a dressy style while a floral print cover-up makes a fun outfit that’s perfect for vacation.

When shopping for new plus size clothing for your vacation, be sure that the separates you buy will work with several different outfits. That will help you pack light but still give you lots of different options to choose from.

It can be hard to find nice plus size women’s clothing for travel in local stores, but online retailers carry comfortable and stylish clothing for women of all sizes. Combining some new clothes with what you already have will let you create fantastic new outfits that are ideal for your time away from home.

Keeping Your Plus Size Clothing Wardrobe Fresh and New

October 3rd, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

I must admit, I love to shop, especially for clothes. I always have, so I’ve collected a lot of outfits over the years. Even though you could say my wardrobe is rather complete, I still like to keep it fresh by adding new touches. It’s amazing how easy it is to update an entire outfit just by adding a little something new.

I have several dresses, blouses, and tops that I love; the colors are perfect and they fit me fabulously. I’ve had some of them for years though, and wearing the same thing over and over gets old. So I’ve found sweaters, scarves, and jackets that coordinate with my outfits. Just slipping a light sweater over an old top makes it feel completely new!

If you want to keep your wardrobe fresh but already have several casual plus size clothing outfits you love, just add some new touches to update your look. The weather’s changing, it’s getting cooler out; it’s the perfect time to find some new scarves, plus size jackets, and sweaters. Combine them with your favorite outfits to create a whole new look you’re sure to love.

Planning Plus Size Clothing Outfits For Your Next Trip

September 20th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

I love to travel, but I hate to pack. But I have gotten better at planning my outfits before I head out the door so that I don’t have to bring too many clothes with me or get stuck wearing an uncomfortable outfit while on vacation. The key for me is planning; taking the time to think about where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing on my trip makes packing a million times easier.

I often visit family in the fall, and that means packing warmer clothing that I can layer depending on the weather. Not an easy task, especially for a curvy woman. But I bring some khaki and black pants with several tops that I can mix and match. Plus size jackets and cover ups are great since you can wear them over a light blouse or tank top to create a dressier look or stay warm when it gets chilly out.

Packing for a trip is not always an easy task, but you can make it so much simpler by bringing versatile separates. Plus size clothing that can be mixed and matched to create several comfortable outfits is definitely the way to go. Before you head out on your next trip, check out plus size women’s clothing stores online to find new travel outfits you’ll love.

Staying Comfortable In Plus Size Clothing At The Office

September 9th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

When I head out the door to work each morning, I want to look good (of course) but I also want to know that my clothing is going to be comfortable all day long. I can’t stand a long day in the office in an outfit that doesn’t quite fit right. It used to be almost impossible for me to find comfy and stylish office clothing in size 2x (26/28), but times have changed and now my wardrobe is a thing of beauty, even my business work clothing.

For a day in the business office, I like to wear an easy and comfortable button up work blouse. They are cool and combine well with pants or a skirt. I’m really into a new kimono sleeve separate I got too. I like it because it gives me a nice feminine shape without being clingy or uncomfortable. I always prefer lightweight fabric in the office too. But if you work in a place where the AC is always too cool, don’t forget to bring a sweater with you.

Whatever your personal style, be sure that you will be comfortable at work. It will keep you less stressed and make your day much easier. I find that shopping online for plus size clothing is the way to go. There are great designers online who make plus size women’s work clothing that’s perfect for the office.

Creating a Slimming Effect with Plus Size Women’s Clothing

September 5th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

The clothing you wear says a lot about your personal style and taste. You want your outfits to reflect your personality, and thanks to plus size fashion designers, women of size are now able to do just that. By combining the right colors, materials, and accessories, you can create a slimming effect with your outfits that highlight your gorgeous strengths.

First of all, always wear clothing that fits you properly; going too tight or too loose is never flattering. Lycra is best to avoid except for in intimate clothing. They cost a little more, but getting a pair of tailored pants that fit perfectly is totally worth it. When you’re shopping for jeans, opt for low-rise styles; they’ll compliment your curves well. If they end in a pair of heels, better yet! Heels always give you a taller and slimmer look.

Shopping in local department stores can be tough, since they don’t always have good selections for styles or sizes. Online stores have plus size women’s clothing in lots of sizes, plus their clothes are designed with women of size in mind. It’s easy to shop online; just ease back in your chair and check out their plus size clothing from the comfort of your home computer. They’ll ship your new outfits right to your door!

Plus Size Clothing Accessorizing With A Belt

August 19th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

Accessories are a key part of any outfit; they can give it a fun feel or an elegant touch, all depending on what you choose to go with. Belts are one great accessory that look great with plus size clothing. Depending on your body shape, though, you might be a little wary about using a belt as an accessory. The truth is that a belt can look great on any body shape as long as you choose the right style.

If you want to take the attention off your hips and focus more on your hips, a belt is an excellent way to do it. To create a bold style that grabs the eye, go with a belt that contrasts with the rest of your outfit or has a stylish buckle. If you would prefer a more subtle and subdued style, choose a belt that matches the color and style of your clothing.

Belts come in all kinds of different colors, widths, and styles. They can go great with plus size skirts, especially if you want to draw attention to your waist. Try out a variety of styles and figure out what looks best on you. Soon you’ll be able to create fun new outfits just by adding this simple accessory to your plus size clothing.

Plus Size Clothing for Apple Shaped Women

August 5th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

It seems like many apple shaped women have a difficult time finding flattering outfits and may end up feeling uncomfortable about their bodies. In general, apple shapes have good legs, an average bust, and a big tummy. Plus size clothing that draws the eye to a woman’s top section is best for apple shapes, like a V-neck blouse or jacket. Some cute shoes that highlight most apples’ slim ankles and calves are a good choice too. Shopping online for plus size clothing can make it easier for you to find clothing that’s comfortable, flattering, and stylish.

Try Shopping Online For Plus Size Clothing

July 29th, 2010 by Lisa Metcalf

I know some people don’t like buying clothes online, especially because if they don’t fit it can be a hassle to return the outfits. But I like it! I think many of us who wear plus size clothing can appreciate the privacy of shopping from home and trying things on in our own bedroom, using our own mirrors and lighting. And is something doesn’t fit or isn’t what I was expecting, I just exchange it for something else from the same store. That way there is less hassle, and it’s money already spent so getting a new outfit out of it is exciting.
